Dental Hygienist

*This position is Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm
No nights, no weekends.

Responsibilities Include:
• Perform patient screenings and access oral health conditions
• Review of health history
• Perform intra oral and extra oral examination
• Dental charting accurately reflecting procedures and encounters
• Take dental radiographs diagnosed by dentist
• Works closely with providing dentist to meet the oral health care needs of the patient
• Reviews and follows all dental clinic protocols, policies, and procedures
• Coordinate with team members to provide emergency care to patients
• Remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of patient’s teeth
• Applying preventive materials to patients’ teeth (sealants, fluoride)
• Educate patients about appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
• professional communication amongst team, and patients
• ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions
• conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
• help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
• Follow OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines
• Work in sterilization lab area
• Other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene required

QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Dental Hygienist in the state of New Jersey is required

We are a small 1 doctor, 1 hygienist practice with an established patient base. Office hours are Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5pm. No nights, weekends and we are closed on Friday.
We have a fun, professional working enviornment, while paying close attention to detail in order to provide the best patient treatment we can. We are looking to add a 2nd Dental Assistant as well as a 2nd receptionist to balance the workload.
