Key Responsibilities:
As a Pediatric Dental Hygienist, your duties will include:
- Conducting initial dental assessments and preparing young patients for examinations.
- Performing professional dental cleanings, taking dental radiographs, and applying sealants.
- Educating children and their parents about effective oral hygiene practices and the importance of preventative care.
- Managing patient dental and medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Preparing and maintaining dental equipment and instruments in accordance with established infection control protocols.
- Participating in community outreach initiatives to enhance oral health awareness.
- Collaborating with the dental team to ensure coordinated patient care and optimal treatment outcomes.
Qualifications:
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
- A valid NJ dental hygienist license.
- Specialized training or experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Friendly, effective communication skills, particularly in interacting with children.
- A strong understanding of child development and pediatric oral health needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster a comforting environment for children and their parents.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure, promoting a calm atmosphere.
- Patience and empathy when interacting with anxious or uncooperative children.
- Commitment to following safety and sanitation protocols.
