We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dental team in various procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking patient histories, and providing chairside assistance to dentists during procedures. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice.
Responsibilities:
● Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and organized.
● Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment areas following established infection control protocols.
● Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
● Obtain and update patient medical histories, including dental records and necessary X-rays.
● Assist the dentist during dental procedures by providing chairside support, passing instruments, and maintaining a clear field of vision.
● Prepare dental materials, such as composite, impression materials, and cements, as directed by the dentist.
● Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring high-quality images and accurate documentation.
● Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions to patients.
● Perform dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and constructing custom trays.
● Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring an efficient and organized workflow.
● Maintain dental supplies inventory, restocking as necessary, and ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
● Maintain a clean and sterile dental environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
● Assist with dental office administrative tasks, such as billing, record-keeping, and insurance claim processing.
● Continuously update and improve knowledge and skills through professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is preferred.
● Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role is desirable.
● Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, procedures, and infection control protocols.
● Proficient in taking dental X-rays and operating dental software.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
● Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
● CPR certification and radiography certification (if required by state regulations).
Familiarity with dental insurance processes and dental office administrative tasks is a plus.
